Application-based Badging

Kepner-Tregoe Badge Overview

Learners are invited to submit applications for review and feedback to attain badges. The more applications they have reviewed, the higher level of badge they can attain. This incremental approach enhances their understanding of the KT processes, brings added value by resolving more issues, and provides learners with a visible acknowledgment of their proficiency.

Badging Criteria

Kepner-Tregoe Foundations Badge
  • Completion of a KT workshop
Kepner-Tregoe Practitioner Badge
  • Completion of a KT workshop
  • 3 approved applications using a minimum of 2 KT processes
Kepner-Tregoe Advanced Badge
  • Builds upon the foundation of the Practitioner Badge
  • 3 additional approved applications using a minimum of 3 KT processes (6 applications in total)
Kepner-Tregoe Expert Badge
  • Builds upon the foundation of the Advanced Badge
  • 4 additional approved applications using a minimum of 4 KT processes (10 applications in total)

Champion Badging

For those interested in implementing the KT methodologies within their organization, facilitating sessions, and leading behavioral changes, champion badges offer a formal pathway. This avenue allows individuals to play a pivotal role in organizational development.

Kepner-Tregoe Coach Badge
  • Completion of the KT Coach Development Institute (CDI)
  • Be observed successfully coaching 15 individuals using KT process to resolve issues
Kepner-Tregoe Facilitator Badge
  • Completion of the KT Facilitator Development Institute (FDI)
  • Be observed successfully facilitating 2 complex issues with a group
Kepner-Tregoe Program Leader Badge
  • Completion of the KT Leadership Development Institute (LDI)
  • Be observed successfully delivering a complete KT workshop

Submitting an Application toward a KT Badge

Step 1: Download the appropriate Application Guide and Worksheet Template using the links below.

The Worksheet Template is where you will record your work.

The Application Guide will help you assess your work at each step and ensure that you submit a complete, high-quality application that can be reviewed quickly.

Examples of applications can be found in your workshop materials or in your MyKT account, in the Examples tab. You can log in to MyKT, or create your free account here. If you don't have your Workshop Access Code for the workshop you attended, please let us know.

Step 2: Complete your application, checking it against the corresponding Application Guide to confirm that it meets the needed requirements.

IMPORTANT: Save the application using the following title format. This will ensure we can easily keep track of it during the review process:

Step 3: Email us your application for review. Send it to:

A KT Expert will review your application quickly and provide feedback. If needed, you can revise and resubmit your application.
